San Antonio Casting Director
Casting for San Antonio productions.
For a San Antonio production, a clear casting brief connects the story or campaign to the people who can carry it. GS Casting LLC casts for producers, directors, agencies and brands working in San Antonio and surrounding South Texas communities. Our company is based in Houston; agency outreach, self-tapes and coordinated callbacks let your team begin the casting process without assuming we have a local office.
Cast for the audience and the read
Commercial and corporate scripts can ask for warmth, authority or a natural conversational delivery. Send the actual copy, the intended audience and any language requirements so those qualities can be evaluated in an audition rather than inferred from a photograph.
If a role requires Spanish or another language, specify the delivery, fluency and any dialect requirements relevant to the script. A language requirement belongs in the breakdown, with suitable audition material, not as a vague note added after the shortlist.
A range of production formats
We cast commercials, television and film, voice-over, print and lifestyle campaigns, corporate and industrial projects, and branded content. The medium changes what your team needs to see: scene work, an audio read, a visual match or a host handling specialized copy.
Include role counts, dates and location along with the creative brief. For a film or television project, send character context and sides; for an advertising campaign, identify usage and whether the same talent is needed for additional still or social deliverables.
Representation and regional coordination
GS Casting works through established talent representation. Our existing San Antonio resources include Avant Agency and The Blanco Agency; outreach is determined by the project's requirements rather than a promise of a particular performer or agency relationship.
Share local-hire requirements and travel terms before outreach. A South Texas schedule should be explicit about the actual filming location and any dates when the cast must remain available.
Remote review with a clear next step
Self-tapes are a practical starting point when the director, client or producer is outside San Antonio. We review performances and present organized selects, then coordinate callbacks for the decisions that need a closer look.
A callback is most useful when the team knows what it needs to resolve: tone, scene interpretation, interaction between performers or a revised read. Agree on those questions and the final approval deadline in advance.
Check production rules with the local commission
The San Antonio Film Commission provides permitting and incentive information. If your production is considering an incentive with local hiring conditions, confirm current eligibility directly with the commission; serving the market is not the same as meeting a program's residency rules.
Pat Skiles brings approximately fifteen years of SAG-AFTRA talent-agent experience before transitioning into casting. GS Casting is hired for casting, not actor representation or paid audition access. Send your production type, location, dates and roles to discuss the right approach.
